The power of accountability with ADHD/ LD

One of the most common topics of conversation with my clients is centered around accountability. You can likely fill in the blank to fit your specific needs but I will tell you that the phrases I hear are essentially the same over and over again.

“If I don’t have a deadline I won’t do it”.

“I thrive on doing something at the last minute but I usually make a lot of mistakes”.

“If no one is asking me to do something I won’t do it”.

“I know I really need to do it but I let it slide because it is only for my benefit”.

“They keep asking me to do it but it's just so boring and I have no interest in it, so I don’t do it”.

Sound familiar?

Well, you are certainly not alone there.

That is why I have created the Cape-able Community!

As an adult with learning disabilities and/or ADHD it’s pretty frustrating and isolating knowing that not everyone around you really understands how you think or what you struggle with on the inside.

With the Cape-able Community, we are here to build each other up through community, support and education. We find partners in accountability, learn and discover new ways to organize and build consistency and always remind you of your strengths and all that you are cape-able.

This community is for you if:

  • You’re an adult officially or unofficially diagnosed with ADHD, Executive Dysfunction and/or learning disabilities or chronically overwhelmed with your to-do lists.

  • You feel like you could get so much more done in your day if you just had people to hold you accountable.

  • You know you’re smart but you’re having a hard time staying organized, productive and on top of your goals.

  • You want great learning strategies that support your line of thinking and are tailored for you to succeed.

  • You’re tired of your co-workers or those around you not understanding the way you think and operate and you just want to be around people who do!

What can you expect with the Cape-able Community:

  • Twice a week we will run our “Virtual coffee shop”. You know how when you go to a coffee shop you can hyperfocus and get a lot of work done? Well, that’s what we’ve created here. We are using body-doubling to help each other and hold each other accountable to get everything on our to-do list done.

  • Live Q&A once a month! Come join us and ask me questions and receive live group coaching so that you can get the support you need.

  • Once a month join us for a guest workshop to help give you the resources and tools that support your unique way of thinking.

  • Tap into a library of resources from prior workshops to continue to learn in ways that make sense to you.

  • Join our private facebook community and connect with other adults who have ADHD and/or learning disabilities.

So excited for you to join and remind you all that you are cape-able of.
